Rock Hill Man Charged with Five Burglaries of Campus Buildings

ROCK HILL, S.C. -
Winthrop Campus Police
have charged a Rock Hill man in connection with a series of burglaries that took place at the university during July.
Zedric Deon Barr
, 24, was arrested on July 18 near the campus and initially charged with trespassing and resisting arrest. Within the last week, Campus Police have charged Barr with
five burglaries
and
one count of safe cracking
, according to Chief Frank Zebedis.
In a separate incident, Campus Police charged a second man,
Daniel Grovo
, 24, of 1175 India Hook Road. The former Winthrop student was allegedly found to have disposed of some property stolen from the burglaries. He is charged with
possession of stolen goods valued at more than $5,000
and
obtaining money or goods under false pretenses
. He was arrested on July 25 at his home.
Barr remains in jail at the York County Detention Center.
