Check Out Book Values at Friends of Library's Antique Roadshow for Books on Oct. 1

The
Friends of the Library
will hold a fall book festival in McBryde Hall on the Winthrop University campus. The event, which will feature an antique roadshow for books, a silent auction, art and book sale, will last from 2 to 6 p.m.
Here are the details on the activities:

Antique Roadshow for Books, 4-6 p.m. (Main Hall)

Jim Presgraves
, antiquarian from Wytheville, Va., will appraise up to three books brought by visitors to the event. Presgraves, owner of
Bookworm and Silverfish bookstore
, has been buying and selling books for more than 40 years. His clients have included national libraries in both hemispheres as well as most U.S. State libraries and esteemed national collections such as the Smithsonian Institution and the Winterthur Museum.
Tickets will be numbered, and the appraiser will call out the number. Seating will be provided while you wait. Tickets are $10 and $5 for students with a Winthrop ID.
To purchase tickets in advance, please make check payable to Friends of Dacus Library and send to Dr. Jim Johnston, 1946 Farrow Drive, Rock Hill SC 29732 by Sept. 19. If you are on campus, please send the check for tickets to Dr. Jim Johnston at 204 Life Sciences Building by Sept. 19. Additional walk-up tickets for the Antique Road Show for Books will be available for purchase at the door.

Silent Auction, 2-6 p.m. (Tuttle Dining Room):
Original art by Winthrop faculty and administrators, a multi-course dinner prepared in your home, and more!

Winthrop Art Sale
, 2-6 p.m. (Main Hall): Works by Winthrop students and faculty.

Book Sale
, 2-6 p.m. (Main Hall): Stock up on reading and gifts offered by Dacus Library.
Admission to the art and book sales and silent auction is free of charge.
Parking for the event will be beside McBryde Hall or in the Johnson lot beside the West Center. Look for balloons and signs to find a parking space.
