Annual Student Choreography Showcase to Include 10 Dance Pieces

ROCK HILL, S.C.—So you think you can dance? Seniors in Winthrop University’s Department of Theatre and Dance sure can.

Settle in for a night of exhilarating performances at the Student Choreography Showcase, opening April 25 in Johnson Theatre.

Directed by Assistant Professor Valerie Ifill, the showcase will include 10 dance pieces, all choreographed by dance majors. Styles of dance showcased include tap, jazz and contemporary modern.

Student choreographers are: Lexi Bruns, Sarah Fetner, Cassie Graham, Brittany Johnson, Myah Manual, Emily Molinari, Allie Nunweiler, Savannah Schoenborn, Mackinsey Shahan and Derek Vereen. More than 15 dance students from across the Carolinas will bring these students’ works to life.

Show times are 8 p.m. April 25-26 with 2 p.m. matinees April 26-27. Tickets are $8 with a Winthrop ID and/or senior discount or $15 for the general public. It is a cultural event.
