ROCK HILL, S.C. — Enjoy a full evening of works choreographed by Winthrop University faculty at the Winthrop Dance Theatre Concert.

The Department of Theatre and Dance will present the concert in conjunction with Homecoming in Johnson Theatre. Show times are 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6-Saturday, Nov. 9 with a 2 p.m. showing on Sunday, Nov. 10.

The show is directed by Director of Dance Meg Schriffen, who is active in the Charlotte dance community, and who also performs independently in festivals throughout the region. She also teaches, choreographs and performs in Italy every summer with the Staibdance Summer Dance Intensive.

The concert features more than 30 dance students bringing to life works choreographed by the following faculty: Assistant Professor of Dance Valerie Ifill; Associate Professor of Dance and Assistant Dean with the College of Visual and Performing Arts Stephanie Milling; Adjunct Professors of Dance Bethany Tuffy, Stacy McConnell, Lauren Skrabalak, Mia Cunningham and Ashley Suttlar Martin.

The concert caters to all lovers of the arts, with tap, musical theatre, three ballet pieces, two modern pieces--one of which features projection with live dancing -- and a reconstruction of a historic dance work by legendary choreographer and dancer Doris Humphrey.

Tickets are $8 with a Winthrop ID and $15 to the general public. Reserved seating is available. It is an approved cultural event.
