ROCK HILL, S.C. – Winthrop University’s Honors Program student newsletter, “The Sage Page,” tied for first place in a recent National Collegiate Honors Council’s newsletter competition.

Submissions for the category - Student Produced Print - came from Honors Colleges and Programs across the U.S., according to Kathy Lyon, director of Winthrop’s Honors Program. Lyon will accept the award on behalf of the Honors students at the council’s Nov. 8 annual conference in New Orleans.

“This is a student-produced newsletter, so I think it speaks volumes about the quality of the work of our Honors Program students,” Lyon said. “I am very proud! The newsletter is a team effort of many students, but I want to particularly thank Griffin Glaze, class of 2013, who was the newsletter editor of The Sage Page editions that were submitted for the competition.”

The “Sage Page” comes out in the fall and spring.
