Columbia Alumna Among Four Selected for Board of Trustee Seats

 Ashlye Rumph-Geddis Wilkerson `05 of Columbia, S.C., was selected for the Sixth District and will serve until 2014.
 In the remaining uncontested Board of Trustee races, these members will serve until 2018: Timothy B. Sease `87 of Mount Pleasant, S.C., First Congressional District; Kathy H. Bigham `73 of Rock Hill, S.C., Fifth Congressional District; and Karl A. Folkens `78 of Florence, S.C., Seventh Congressional District.

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The S.C. General Assembly filled four seats on the Winthrop Board of Trustees on May 2, including a contested race for the Sixth Congressional District.

Ashlye Rumph-Geddis Wilkerson `05 of Columbia, S.C., was selected for the Sixth District and will serve until 2014. The other candidate was Rose Hilliard-Wilder of Alcolu, S.C., a Clarendon School District One superintendent. 

A Ph.D. candidate with the University of South Carolina and an instructor at Midlands Technical College, Wilkerson is a children’s book author and former elementary school teacher with Richland School District One.

In the remaining uncontested Board of Trustee races, these members will serve until 2018: Timothy B. Sease `87 of Mount Pleasant, S.C., First Congressional District; Kathy H. Bigham `73 of Rock Hill, S.C., Fifth Congressional District; and Karl A. Folkens `78 of Florence, S.C., Seventh Congressional District.

All three are currently on the Winthrop Board of Trustees.
