 The results of their analysis will be presented on Thursday, Jan. 10, in the Whitton Auditorium in Carroll Hall. The meeting is free and open to the public.

ROCK HILL, S.C. - With signs of a rebounding economy evident around the region, researchers at Winthrop University have been looking at where York County’s next economic development opportunity could be.

Economists at Winthrop’s College of Business Administration recently completed a new market analysis focusing on potential benefits of the extension of Dave Lyle Boulevard east across the Catawba River to Lancaster County. The results of their analysis will be presented on Thursday, Jan. 10, in the Whitton Auditorium in Carroll Hall. The meeting is free and open to the public.

A reception will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a presentation of findings at 6:30 p.m.

Key aspects of the presentation by faculty member Laura Ullrich will include the potential impact of the Dave Lyle extension project on York County’s overall retail competitiveness, increased sales tax receipts, increased employment opportunities, and the attraction of a larger workforce with more varied skills to the region.
