ROCK HILL, S.C. – Elaine Whitton Davis ‘73 and Winthrop University’s College of Business Administration have announced the first event in a series of training seminars for small business owners.

The series will feature Patrick Henry, a top industry speaker, on Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m.-noon in Whitton Auditorium.

Henry is nationally recognized as a speaker with a dynamic and entertaining style described as “taking training to a whole new level with his original music and honor” and an “energetic audience captivator with real-world solutions and proven results.”

The objective of the Whitton Best Practices Series, sponsored by Davis and developed in conjunction with Winthrop faculty, is to provide free or low-cost access to current state of the art knowledge relevant to small business practice.

It is Davis’ belief that small businesses often do not have the resources or time to stay abreast of current topics and trends in the business world. The Whitton Series will be delivered close to home at convenient times and at no charge to the participants. In three hours participants will learn how to change the future of their business by changing the way they sell, changing the way they approach potential customers, and the way they promote their company and brand.

The Whitton Series is designed to support the regional business community. For more information or to reserve space contact Page Bowden, director of external relations for the College of Business Administration, at bowdenp@winthrop.edu or 803/323-2504.
