ROCK HILL, S.C. —
Joyce Plyler ’80, ’10
has established a special fund honoring
Dacus Library’s Louise Pettus Archives and Special Collections.
The generous gift recognizes the importance of studying the past and preserving it for future generations. Called
the Historical Preservation Fund,
the gift will support the archives’ full mission, especially as it relates to the history of South Carolina.
“Winthrop’s Archives is a historical treasure and is greatly in need of support to increase the accessibility of its holdings for students and scholars,” Plyler said.
She hopes this will encourage additional contributions from others who feel the same.
The fund will be used for necessary supplies and equipment, historical preservation and as sponsorship for activities that encourage an interest in historical study and preservation.
