Soccer, Food and Giveaways Part of International Evening Under the Stars

 “International Evening Under the Stars” is sponsored by the Athletics Department and the Global Learning Initiative to ensure that Winthrop students are successful as citizens and professionals of the greater world.

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The third annual Global Games will move to the Eagle athletic fields as part of the men’s soccer game festivities on Oct. 24.

Called “International Evening Under the Stars,” the event at the Eagle Field Community Area will feature:

• 6:30 p.m., Association of Ebonites Choir performance

• 6:30-7:30 p.m., free international food and giveaways. Students can earn points to win a vuvuzela horn (South African horns heard during the recent World Cup) and sample food from Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Far East.

• 7 p.m., Eagles versus Gardner-Webb soccer game

• 7:45 p.m., performance by the Winthrop Dance Team

This is a free cultural event. Students will be offered free shuttle bus transportation from the campus. To receive cultural credit, you must arrive by 6:30 p.m. Scanning checkout will start at 8 p.m. and continue until the end of the game.
