ARAMARK Praises Winthrop Food Service Director for Her Management Style

ARAMARK officials praised Yurkovic for challenging her management team for providing quality service to her Winthrop clients and for her work in adding Camp Thunderbird as a new client in February.

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Pam Yurkovic, food services director for Winthrop University, was recently selected as ARAMARK’s Southeast Region Food Service Director of the Year.

The award was presented in June at USC-Aiken by Mary Thornton, Southeast regional vice president who oversees higher education institutions in North and South Carolina. She praised Yurkovic for challenging her management team to provide quality service to her Winthrop clients and for her work in adding Camp Thunderbird as a new client in February.

“It was definitely a nice surprise and was very appreciated,” said Yurkovic, an Elizabeth City, N.C., native who has worked at Winthrop since 2005. She joined ARAMARK in 1998, also working at Wake Forest and East Carolina universities and in health services. She also briefly owned a gourmet deli and food specialty store in Rocky Mount, N.C.

Yurkovic earned an associate’s degree in culinary arts from Johnson & Wales, Charleston campus, and a bachelor’s degree in food service and hotel management from N.C. Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount.
