Rock Hill Educational Community Garden Plant Day Set For Sept. 8

ROCK HILL, S.C. — Bring your shovels and gardening gloves — the
Rock Hill Educational Community Garden Plant Day
is set for this Saturday.
The garden, a collaboration between
Winthrop University
,
the city of Rock Hill
and
Two Men and a Truck
, is meant to teach people how to garden and to promote a healthier and more active lifestyle. Two master gardeners are often on hand to show participants how to garden on official plant days. Seeds and plants are provided by the city.
Students and several Winthrop groups, including the
Vegetarian Society
and
Serving Others And Reflecting (SOAR)
, will help plant the garden Saturday at 9 a.m. Students have invited first-time participants from Ebenezer Elementary’s Leadership Academy, who will plant their plant Friday morning.
The garden, comprised of 13 plots, is located at
114 Ebenezer Avenue
behind the Two Men and a Truck business.
Students and the public are invited to participate in Saturday’s planting.
