ROCK HILL, S.C. — The Ida Jane Dacus Library’s Renovation Celebration will be one for the books on Sept. 4 with food, music, contests and fun.

The free event is open to the public and will run from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. It marks one of the first glimpses the public has had into the newly renovated library.

The first 25 participants will receive free T-shirts. Students gain raffle tickets via participation in games, with the grand prize winner taking home an e-reader. The event will also feature food, live music, games, demos, exhibits and contests.

The library underwent extensive renovations and improvements over the summer, sparked by a survey in which hundreds of students provided feedback on what they would like to see in the library. Students have been greeted with group study rooms, technobooths and an information commons, a combination of both the circulation and reference desks. The library will also move to 24-hour access Sunday-Thursday, beginning Sept. 3.

Visit the library's website for more information.
