WFAE's Public Conversations Series Heads to Winthrop for Election Forum

 In a highly interactive format, audience members can express and discuss the issues that are important to them in this election, and how they would like the presidential candidates and the eventual nominees to address those issues.
 The facilitators for the event are Mike Collins, host of WFAE's Charlotte Talks, and Scott Huffmon, professor of political science and director of the Winthrop Poll.

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Three days after the South Carolina Republican presidential primary, WFAE's Public Conversations Series addresses the political implications of the South Carolina primary results and emerging issues for the 2012 presidential campaigns.

"Election 2012: Off and Running" is on Tues., Jan. 24, 7-8:30 p.m., at Winthrop University's Dina's Place in the DiGiorgio Campus Center in Rock Hill, S.C. In a highly interactive format, audience members can express and discuss the issues that are important to them in this election, and how they would like the presidential candidates and the eventual nominees to address those issues.

The John C. West Forum on Politics and Policy at Winthrop University is partnering on this Public Conversation.

Public Conversations is an ongoing series of community forums designed to convene Charlotte-area residents for discussion of timely and relevant topics. The goal is to create comfortable settings that encourage a stimulating and enlightening exchange of ideas. By organizing these Public Conversations, WFAE intends to serve as a catalyst for community dialogue. Participants are encouraged to engage in conversation with a cross-section of community representatives, expert panelists, and with each other.
