Dorothy W. Williams ’60 Endows Fund for Family and Consumer Sciences

Williams Family and Consumer Sciences Fund will provide funds for the family and consumer sciences program to be used for scholarship awards; travel for student and faculty development; activities of the Winthrop Association of Family and Consumer Sciences; support of visiting lecturers; and purchase of educational materials for students.
 Williams, a longtime resident of Columbia, S.C., majored in home economics at Winthrop.

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Dorothy “Dot” Williamson Williams ’60 has established an endowed fund for the Richard W. Riley College of Education’s Department of Family and Consumer Sciences.

The Dorothy W. Williams Family and Consumer Sciences Fund will provide funds for the family and consumer sciences program to be used for scholarship awards; travel for student and faculty development; activities of the Winthrop Association of Family and Consumer Sciences; support of visiting lecturers; and purchase of educational materials for students. The Winthrop University Foundation will maintain the fund.

Williams, a longtime resident of Columbia, S.C., majored in home economics at Winthrop. She was actively involved in the Class of 1960’s 50th reunion in 2010.
