ROCK HILL, S.C. - Prohibition, murder, criminal celebrities – Winthrop's Department of Theatre and Dance will start its 2011-12 season with pizzazz and a little stylish mayhem.
Opening the season will be a production of Broadway hit musical "Chicago," the tale of Roxie Hart, who uses the media sensation surrounding her murder trial to become a bona-fide celebrity. Stephen Gundersheim, associate professor of theatre, will direct the production, based on a play by reporter Maurine Dallas Watkins.
