Winthrop Among Sponsors for First York County Green Business Conference

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Local businesses and students are invited to attend the inaugural York County Green Business conference on March 3. The one-day conference at the Baxter Hood Center at York Technical College will provide businesses, institutions, organizations and non-profits with new and innovative ways to go green and save some money in the process.

Designed to share real-world information and highlight sustainable practices that organizations of any size can integrate into their own business and marketing plans, the conference will offer panel discussions, workshops and a keynote address along with regional green vendors and service providers. Sessions will focus on air quality, alternative energy, business recycling, green building, green cleaning, green hospitality and green landscaping.

Walter Hardin, associate vice president for facilities management, will speak on green buildings, while Chris Hodgdon of central receiving will talk about green cleaning.

Lisa Shpritz
, senior vice president and environmental manager at Corporate Workplace for Bank of America, is the keynote speaker. She also is a member of the board of directors at U.S. Green Building Council.
