Trustee’s Gift to Winthrop Supports International Experiences for Students

ROCK HILL, S.C. - A recent gift of real estate to the Winthrop University Real Estate Foundation will provide scholarships and support for international experiences for Winthrop students. The gift of property comes from Karl Folkens '1978, who has served as president of the Winthrop Alumni Association and as chair of the Winthrop Board of Trustees. Folkens was also involved in the Winthrop University Model United Nations during his time as a Winthrop student, which began his long-standing support of the international experience as central to a college education.
