ROCK HILL, S.C. - A new gift from the estate of Anne Moss Biggs, class of 1935, will establish the Anne Moss Biggs Endowed Scholarship at Winthrop University.
The newly created scholarship, with total estate gifts expected to be more than $600,000, will provide scholarship support for Winthrop students, with first preference to non-traditional students.
Biggs, of Lumberton, N.C., who passed away in the fall, cited her own Winthrop experience as the motivation for creating the scholarship. Biggs and her three sisters, all natives of York, S.C., are graduates of Winthrop – Lucetta Moss Arntz, class of 1927; Helen Moss McCausland, class of 1932; and Jean Moss Mattox, class of 1938.
