ROCK HILL, S.C. - Winthrop Day at Winthrop University is expected to attract more than 1,600 people on March 27, including 600 students accepted to Winthrop for fall 2010.
Students traveled from as far away as California and New Hampshire, with 15 percent coming from out of state. Many also traveled from all parts of South Carolina, particularly the Upstate.
Of the 600 admitted students, 276 are interested in the College of Arts and Sciences, 142 are interested in the Richard W. Riley College of Education, 106 are interested in the College of Business Administration, and 91 in College of Visual and Performing Arts. During Winthrop Day, they will tour residence halls and athletic facilities, meet with professors and learn about academic success communities and extracurricular activities. Admitted students also will be told about a checklist of items before Orientation this summer.
Campus tours are held Monday through Friday.
