Bachelor of Science in Mathematics-Certification as Secondary School Teacher

Students seeking certification as teachers of mathematics should consult with the Department's teacher certification adviser and the College of Education for specific requirements for admission to the Teacher Education Program.

The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics-Certification as Secondary School Teacher degree consists of the following coursework.

Required Program:

  •      MATH 201, 202, 300, 301, 302, 351, 375, 522, 541 (27)

  •      Select 3 hours from MATH 509, 551, 553 (3)

  •      Select 3 hours from MATH 542, 545 (3)

  •      Select 3 hours from MATH 509, 542, 543, 545, 551, 553, or 575 (3)

  •      MAED 200 (1)

  •      PHYS 211 (4)

  •      Lab Science in life science (3)
