Students seeking certification as teachers of mathematics should consult with the Department's teacher certification adviser and the College of Education for specific requirements for admission to the Teacher Education Program.

The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics-Certification as Secondary School Teacher degree consists of the following coursework.

Required Program:

•      MATH 201, 202, 300, 301, 302, 351, 522, 541

•      Select 3 hours from MATH 509, 551, 553

•      Select 3 hours from MATH 542, 545

•      Select 3 additional hours from MATH courses numbered
       above 300

•      MATH 520, MAED 548

•      CSCI 110, 207, 208

•      Select 3 hours from MATH 375, 542, 543, 545;
       CSCI 271, 381

•      PHYS 211, 212

•      Biological Lab Science
