International Baccalaureate (IB)
IB Credit and Scholarships
To assist you in achieving your academic goals, Winthrop awards advanced college course credit for scores of 4 or above on higher level International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations. A minimum score of 5 is required to receive credit for Math with Further Maths and Computing Studies.
The International Baccalaureate Scholarship
A scholarship awarded to freshman applicants who complete the IB Program through the senior year of high school and who score at least 1250 on the SAT or 28 on the ACT (writing score excluded) and have a 3.0 cumulative GPR. The scholarship is valued at $5,000 and is available for eight semesters of undergraduate study as long as a minimum cumulative GPR of 3.0 is maintained.

Advanced Placement (AP) Exams and Advanced Placment Credit
To assist you in achieving your academic goals, Winthrop awards Advanced Placement (AP) credit for scores of 3 or above on Advanced Placement Tests (taken in conjunction with designated high school AP classes).
Winthrop University provides information on the course credits possible through the College Board Advanced Placement Tests.
Registration forms for the College Board Advanced Placement Tests may be obtained from your high school guidance office. See your guidance counselor for complete College Board information.
