Here is what some of our current students have to say about Winthrop -

"I choose to study for my degree at Winthrop University because I had a feeling that this was the place that I should be and here I would learn how to be a better person and a better professional. When I came to visit Winthrop, I loved it right way; the campus is beautiful, people are really nice and always willing to help."

"I would encourage future international students to come and study at Winthrop because the people here are very nice especially the staff responsible for the International Center, they help us with whatever we need. I didn’t feel home sick because I met so many great people that now they are my new family. All the professors are always there to help you even with the language problems. I can definitely say that this is my second home."

"I choose to study for my degree at Winthrop University because it is just big enough for me to experience so many cultures in the US and find which I fit in with, yet small enough that I can run into someone I know every 5 minutes or make a new friend every 2 minutes. Professors and staff here know you by name and encourage you to develop a long term relationship with them. They want you to succeed just as a parent would."

"I would encourage future international students to come and study at Winthrop because no matter who you are or where you are from; there is something here for you. Whether it is a major, a hobby, or just the social life. There is somewhere you fit in here at Winthrop. Give it a week and it will become your home away from home.  In the last week, I have talked to 2 girls who are seniors here at Winthrop. They cried at the thought of graduating and having to leave."

"I choose to study for my degree at Winthrop University because its high academic reputation in the area of accounting and it is one of the schools that get the certificate of CPA test. Also, the school is located in the Charlotte business area. It makes it easier to find a job when you graduate."

"I would encourage future international students to come and study at Winthrop because you can learn whatever you want, and it is good for career development. Students and faculty are friendly and helpful. The campus is beautiful, quiet, and safe. The communities around are also nice."

"I would encourage future international students to come and study at Winthrop because you can realize and appreciate how nice and helpful your professors are and how productive a small class is."

"I choose to study for my degree at Winthrop University because colleges/universities in America provide a great opportunity to be a student-athlete. No other country has a school system that gives you the opportunity to be able to play a sport at a very high and competitive level while getting a degree at the same time. I chose Winthrop over other colleges with good Athletic programs because of the campus. Winthrop's campus and athletic facilities are very beautiful and very well maintained, and makes it a great place to be."

"
I would encourage future international students to come and study at Winthrop because the international student body at Winthrop is very close knit. It is easy to meet and interact with international and American students on Winthrop's campus. Being a part of Winthrop's international community encourages you to be active on campus and in International Center events."

Cameron Alksnis, Canada
