Employment Application Policy for Permanent Staff Positions 

Please review the following information BEFORE applying for employment.

  • A completed Winthrop application must be submitted in order to apply for a vacancy. A resume may NOT be substituted for the application; however, a resume may be submitted as additional information.

  • Applications will be accepted for currently posted job vacancies only. The Office of Human Resources does not keep applications and/or resumes on file for future vacancies.

  • A separate application must be submitted for each position. The Office of Human Resources will not make copies of the application. It is suggested that the applicant make a copy of the original unsigned application after it is completed.  Copies of applications with original signatures will be accepted.

  • Faxed applications will be accepted at FAX # (803) 323-4861. Faxed applications that are not legible, however, will be disqualified from consideration. Applicants should call our office to make sure the document transmitted successfully.

  • Applications should be mailed or delivered to: The Office of Human Resources, 303 Tillman Hall, Winthrop University, Rock Hill, SC 29733. Applications will not be accepted via e-mail.

  • Applications received after the specified deadline date will not be considered.

  • Due to the volume of applications received, individuals may not be notified when a vacancy is filled.

  • Criminal background checks will be conducted on applicants selected for employment.

  • To comply with South Carolina law prohibiting employment of individuals in default of certain student loans, verification of loan status will be conducted before an offer of employment is made.
