Typical Weekly Work Schedule:

Practicum students begin their training at the beginning of the fall semester. During that time they are involved in an orientation of the training program, the department of Health and Counseling Services, and Winthrop University as a whole. The following components are included in the orientation:

  • Orientation to the Health Counseling Services (policies, procedures, services)
  • Orientation to Clinical issues and expectations for Clinical Service
  • Intake Assessments
  • Outreach Programming
  • Training Activities and Supervision
  • Roles and Functions of the practicum student
  • Internship Student Orientation Schedule

Orientation is typically scheduled the Thursday and Friday before the start of the fall semester at Winthrop.  Orientation for the 2015-2016 Academic year is August 20 and 21.
