Please congratulate the women of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for being selected as Chapter of the Month for August/September.
The Xi Beta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated has hosted fun and interactive events for Winthrop students and the surrounding community this month. Their first program of the month was Freshman Tea. First-year, minority female students were invited to join the chapter for tea and discussion. Raishawn Crawford and Victims' Services Coordinator, Carrie Morphis, spoke to all attendees about self-image, reputation, and the importance of knowing about on-campus services available to students. The chapter also hosted Meet the Greeks this month. This program showcased Greek Life diversity through history and performances. Greek organizations from different councils and schools were invited to participate. This event included performances from members in NPHC, IFC, and CPC at Winthrop University. Students from USC-Columbia, USC-Upstate, Johnson C. Smith University, Allen University, and South Carolina State University traveled to be in attendance. It was a high-energy and unifying event for all who were there. The chapter looks forward to hosting more programs for the Winthrop Community and surrounding area.
