Apply to graduate
Complete the Graduate School application for graduation. Diploma orders are based on the information provided on your application. Please make sure to complete the “Name to appear on diploma” on the application.
DEADLINES: Completed applications must be received in the Office of Records and Registration, 126 Tillman, by:
• February 1st for May and August graduation
• September 15th for December graduation
Graduation filing fees:
• Graduate $50
• Graduate $50 PLUS Late fee $10 after first established deadline
• Graduate $50 PLUS Late fee $20 after second established deadline during semester of anticipated graduation
Do not enclose payment with your application; the graduation fee will be charged to your student account.

Review Commencement Information
The spring commencement ceremony for Graduate students will be Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 7 p.m. at Winthrop Coliseum. August and December graduates will participate in the December commencement. Candidates for degrees should check-in at 5:45 p.m. See the Graduate Commencement Bulletin for full details, including parking, seating, etc. Participation policy: Only those graduate students who have successfully completed all their degree requirements as outlined in the Graduate Catalog will be permitted to participate in commencement ceremonies. No exceptions will be made for any students who have not completed all their degree requirements.

Cap, gown, and hood can be ordered through the Winthrop Bookstore: 803/323-3800.
Master cap, gown, and tassel (sold as a unit) $57.00*
Master hood $45.00

Master gown $40.00

Tassel $10.00
Please be advised the master's gown is different from an undergraduate gown. In the illustration below, the undergraduate gown is on the left and the master's on the right. If you arrive with the wrong regalia, you will be expected to purchase the proper attire before the hooding ceremony.
Order Invitations and Announcements
Invitations and announcements are available through Jostens. Students may order them online at www.Jostens.com or by telephone at 800/854-7464. Invitations and announcements must be ordered in quantities of 25 and should be ordered six weeks in advance. Students may also have invitations printed at local print shops or print their own.
