Senior Citizens
South Carolina residents who are age 60 and over may attend Winthrop University for credit or non-credit purposes on a "tuition-free", space-available basis. These students are, however, responsible for the cost of lab fees, book purchases and/or other course fees.
- Applicants must be legal residents of South Carolina as specified in Section 59-111-320 of the South Carolina Code of Laws.
- Persons who receive compensation as full-time employees are not eligible to take courses under the senior citizen classification.
- Applicants must satisfy Winthrop's admission requirements and provide any required documentation.
