Master of Education in Educational Leadership
Required Program

   The MEd in Educational Leadership is offered in a cohort fashion with sequenced specialty studies being offered six to nine hours per semester.  A candidate who drops out of the program will have to wait a full year to re-enroll on a space available basis.

   To be eligible to graduate, a graduate candidate must complete all course and field experience requirements and submit a Portfolio containing documentation that they have successfully demonstrated proficiency in the 7 standards of the National Board of Educational Administration deemed essential for those preparing to become principals.  An Educational Leadership committee must certify that the candidate has passed the cumulative assessment.

   To be recommended for certification, the candidate must receive the required score (as determined by the South Carolina Department of Education) on the Educational Administration Specialty Test of the PRAXIS Examination.
