Master
of Arts in Art Education |
|
General
Information |
| |
|
The Master of Arts degree program in art education is
designed for certified art teachers who wish to continue
their professional/educational development. The program
provides opportunities for current art teachers to improve
skills in studio art, research in art
education and K-12 art education methodology. |
| |
|
The 36 semester-hour program
combines courses in art
education, art content (studio, history, criticism and
aesthetics) and educational foundations and psychology.
Based on these courses it allows teachers to pursue studio
or research projects of personal concern. |
| |
|
During the first semester of study, but no later than the
completion of 12 graduate hours toward the program, students
must select either the applied studio or research options
consistent with individual professional goals. |
