HOPE Scholarships Up to $2,800 per year
|
South Carolina residents who earn a cumulative 3.0 grade point average (GPA) based on the Uniform Grading Policy (UGP) upon high school graduation and who do NOT qualify for the Palmetto Fellows or LIFE scholarships.
|
One time award.
May earn the LIFE Scholarship if LIFE renewal requirements (pdf - 47 KB) are met.

Coordinated by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education. Students must also meet other requirements established in the Lottery Bill.

LIFE Scholarships Up to $5,000 per year
LIFE Scholarship Guidelines
|
South Carolina residents must meet two of the following three criteria 1) earn a cumulative 3.0 grade point average (GPA) based on the Uniform Grading Policy (UGP) upon high school graduation; 2) score at least 1100 on the SAT (verbal and math) or 24 on the ACT; 3) graduate in the top 30% of their class.
Note: Palmetto Fellows recipients are NOT eligible for the LIFE scholarship.

Renewable for up to eight semesters with a minimum cumulative 3.0 LIFE GPA. Must earn an average of 30 semester hours per academic year.

Palmetto Fellows Up to $6,700 per year for the Class of 2010
|
Must complete application* and meet the following criteria in order to apply: South Carolina residents who 1) score at least 1200 on the SAT (verbal and math), or 27 on the ACT; 2) earn a cumulative 3.5 grade point average (GPA) based on the Uniform Grading Policy (UGP) at the end of the junior year; 3) rank in the top 6% of their class. OR 1) score at least 1400 SAT (verbal and math) (32 ACT); 2) earn a cumulative 4.0 grade point average (GPA) based on the Uniform Grading Policy (UGP) at the end of junior year.

LIFE and Palmetto Fellows Scholarships Enhancement Up to $2,500 per year
|
Sophomore, Junior or Senior recipients of the base LIFE or PFS scholarship and are majoring in an approved MATH or SCIENCE field.
|
Renewable for junior and senior year if 14 hours of Math or Science coursework were earned in the freshman year.

SC Teaching Fellows Program Up to $5,700 per year
|
Awarded to high school seniors, who are South Carolina residents and U.S. citizens planning to complete a degree leading to teacher’s certification.

Renewable.
A Fellow agrees to teach in South Carolina one year for every year s/he receives the Teaching Fellowship.Renewable "forgiven" after four years of teaching in South Carolina.
