The Close Scholarship

    Type of aid: CLOSE Scholarships $2,600 per year (six scholarships awarded annually to freshmen; limited number of scholarships available for upperclassmen)

    Eligibility: Eligible students will be entering freshmen and sophomores and SC residents who demonstrate financial need, scholastic excellence, and a commitment to community involvement and service. 

    Special features: Renewable for freshmen & sophomores for up to six semesters. Renewable for juniors for up to four semesters. Close Scholars must perform 112 hours per semester of approved community service and leadership development in York, Chester, and/or Lancaster counties.

    Application process: Interested students must complete the FAFSA and a CLOSE Scholarship application (available through the Office of Financial Aid) and submit two letters of reference. Visit the Close Scholarship Web site for additional information.
