Job Description: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The successful applicant must have an interest in history, archival work, or library work; strong organization, communication and computer skills; the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the general public; the ability to perform a variety of duties simultaneously; the ability to exercise mature judgment; and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Specific Skills: Arrange and describe collections of historical papers, records, and photographs under the supervision of the Director of Archives and Special Collections and the Assistant Archivist. Assist researchers in the Archives’ research area. Assist in keeping records and statistics on the description and use of the collections. Assist with reference requests received via mail, e-mail, and telephone. Retrieve and shelve material used by researchers. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
