*Note: The state no longer requires two lab sciences for secondary students certifying to teach.  The Curriculum Committee has approved a blanket petition to allow students in catalogs prior to 2008-2009 to take one lab science and one additional course from another category under natural sciences. The blanket petition covers all students in all catalogs prior to 2008-2009.  The appropriate action to change this program requirement in upcoming catalogs is underway.

2005-2006 Catalog

Please note that we have petitioned to replace ENGL 207 with ENGL 208. Students should take ENGL 208 beginning with Spring 2006.

Blanket Petitions for All Catalogs Preceding 2005-2006

The following blanket petitions cover all catalogs preceding 2005-2006:

• HIST 350, HIST 518, HIST 527, and HIST 550 count as acceptable courses in the string of allowable HIST courses for ENGL majors
• WRIT 366 and WRIT 501 count as acceptable courses in the "Writing for Business and Technology" string for the WRIT track (2004-2005 catalog) and in the Professional Communication Track's 12-15 hour string (catalogs preceding 2004-2005).
