Emerging Leaders

About Us

The Emerging Leaders program is designed to educate and empower 20-25 first year students for positional leadership roles at Winthrop University. The program is designed to offer incoming freshmen the opportunity to explore their leadership potential and abilities through education of leadership theories and practices, as well as personal leadership exploration.

This year's selected participants of the program will be part of a Living-Learning Community. Students will reside on the same co-ed floor of a residence hall, share academic courses, and go on a leadership retreat just prior to the start of Welcome Week. In the fall semester, participants will share an ACAD section together on Wednesdays from 2 pm - 3:15 pm, as well as engage in a leadership class together on Wednesdays from 3:30 pm - 4:45 pm.

This program is highly selective and an opportunity for Winthrop's new students to enter into a world of leadership.
