 Dueling Pianos

Saturday, October 5

Dueling Pianos

Midwest Dueling Pianos has quickly become one of the most sought after Dueling Piano production companies in the country.

How It Works:
Your students provide the direction of the show to our performers by writing their favorite songs on request slips that they bring up to the pianos. The multi-talented players then perform these songs, while urging the audience to participate. The fact that many of their favorite Rock, R&B and Rap songs can actually be performed on the piano will leave students wide-eyed and amazed. To further the crowd interaction, we may also bring some of the audience up onto the stage to perform a song, dance, and /or skit for their fellow classmates that will bring the house down.

The Shadowboxers

The Atlanta-based Shadowboxers have a passion for captivating lyrics, tight harmonies, and soulful vocals. Founding members Scott Schwartz, Matt Lipkins, and Adam Hoffman (who met as freshman at their alma mater, Emory University) experienced an almost-instantaneous musical compatibility when they first started jamming. Together with drummer Jaron Pearlman and bassist Ben Williams, they’ve forged a cohesive sound based on a shared reverence for the strong, taut harmonies of Simon & Garfunkel, D’Angelo, and The Beatles

Singer/songwriters Tana Matz & Ryan Schmidt

Tana Matz
By fifteen Tana Matz had taught herself guitar and played piano mostly by ear. It wasn’t until I was seventeen that she had gained the courage to sing her my parents. Since then, Tana has sung at many restaurants, bars and grills, and benefits in her hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. Starting out, she never really knew music would become so necessary in my life .It is the one true love she’s ever know, Tana feels it is beautiful to her in every aspect.

Ryan Schmidt
For far too many artists the idea of “D.I.Y” means they made their own tee shirts. For others, sadly, doing it yourself doesn’t even extend that far. Ryan Schmidt is not one of those artists.Having recently graduated from Northeastern University’s renowned Music Industry program, Schmidt’s career is coming into full bloom. His full-length debut, “Black Sheep, Run,” a hook-laden gem has received local acclaim and for the first time the singer-songwriter has toured outside of New England, including appearing at the 2011 South By Southwest Music Festival.
