Support the Winthrop Fund

Phonathon

What Is Phonathon?

Each year, approximately 30 Winthrop students assemble to develop support for the Winthrop Fund. All money raised during the Phonathon directly supports the efforts of the Winthrop Fund sustaining student scholarships, faculty awards, and the alumni association.

Phonathon participants make a substantial impact, raising thousands of dollars each semester. Furthermore, through the student caller position communication skills are strengthened and unique networking opportunities with Winthrop alumni, parents, family, and friends are gained.

Scheduling & Hours

The Phonathon meets nightly Monday through Thursday and Sunday afternoons to call Winthrop alumni, parents, and friends. The primary goal is to increase alumni participation in giving and connect alumni, parents, family, and friends.

Who Are the Callers?

Student callers believe strongly in Winthrop and its mission. In fact, many of our participants are scholarship recipients. They connect with Winthrop alumni, parents, and friends to request support with the continuation of the Winthrop experience for future students through a gift to the Winthrop Fund. While sharing their unique Winthrop experiences with one another, callers are able to express their sincere gratitude for assistance in building their vital education.
