Ways to Give

Online

Our online giving site allows giving to Winthrop in a safe and secure environment with easy-to-follow steps either with a credit card, debit card, or checking account information to make a one-time gift, set up a recurring gift, or pay an existing pledge.

Call the Winthrop University Foundation at 803/323-2229 and please have your credit or debit card information readily available.

By Mail

Please write checks payable to “Winthrop University Foundation.” In the check memo line, please indicate where you would like your gift designated, or write Winthrop Fund to support the university’s highest priorities.

Recurring Gifts

Make giving to Winthrop easy by setting up automatic, recurring payments in the amount, frequency and chosen amount. Gifts can be paid with credit card, debit card or checking account. Set up automatic payments online or call 803/323-2229.

Matching Gifts

Employer matching gifts can double, or even triple your gift to Winthrop if you or your spouse works for or is a retiree from a company with a matching gift program. When applying for your match, please list the Winthrop University Foundation as the charitable organization. Then we will apply your match to the same designation you choose for your personal gift unless your company’s policy dictates otherwise.

Stocks or Other Securities

Stocks and mutual fund gifts are another way to give to Winthrop. The gift to Winthrop is tax-deductible, and capital gains tax on the security may be avoided. Stock gifts may include stocks held by you, a broker or a mutual fund gift. Contact the Winthrop University Foundation office at 803/323-2229 if you wish to make a gift of stock or other securities.
