Mission Statement

The mission of University Development and Alumni Relations is to facilitate engagement with, and support of, Winthrop University.

Consistent with the Statement of the Nature and Character of Winthrop University, UDAR is “committed to serving the educational needs of the citizens of the state and region” and in doing so, “we bring the world to Winthrop and Winthrop to the world.” As proud members of Winthrop’s “community of learners,” we seek and provide support that fulfills and enhances the nature and character of the university through policies and resources that reflect and advance its ideals and aspirations. 

At the same time, we uphold and fulfill the standards and guidelines set forth by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education as principles of practice in the fields of development and alumni relations.
