PsychologyA. Mays Locating Information in Dacus Library Online :Dacus Library's online catalog (DOC) allows information to be accessed by author, title and subject. Choose the AUTHOR or TITLE search modes to quickly locate a specific book. Choose the SUBJECT search mode to find books on topics. You can also use DOC to find out if Dacus owns any particular journal. Choose the JOURNAL search mode, then type in the exact title of the journal. Online Databases:PsychArticles (Available on Dacus Library Online) This database provides full text articles on current issues in psychology from respected sources, spanning from 1988 to the present. PsychArticles includes more than 25,000 full-text articles from 42 journals published by the American Psychological Association and allied organizations. PsychInfo (Available on Dacus Library Online) This very comprehensive database contains citations and summaries of journal articles, book chapters, books and technical reports, as well as citations to dissertations, all in the field of psychology and psychological aspects of related disciplines, such as medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, physiology, linguistics, anthropology, business and law. Journal coverage, spanning 1887 - present, includes international material selected from more than 1,300 periodicals written in over 25 languages. PubMed (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query) From the National Library of Medicine, provides access to over 11 million MEDLINE citations back to the mid 1960's and additional life science journals. PubMed includes links to many sites providing full text articles and other 4related resources. WebsitesNational Institute of Mental Health (http://www.nimh.nih.gov/) U.S. Government research, findings, information on mental health disorders. Pan American Health Organization (http://www.paho.org/) Health profiles by country including mental health issues. Covers North, South, and Central America. Scholarly Societies Project: Psychology (University of Waterloo Library) (http://www.scholarly-societies.org/psychol_soc.html) "facilitates access to websites of scholarly societies accross the world."
