The primary goal of the Winthrop University Library is to support the instructional and research activities of the Winthrop University academic community. The Library must create a safe and secure environment in which to provide these information needs.
Therefore, as a security measure, a Winthrop University identification card or a scheduled appointment will be required to enter Dacus Library.

The Reference Desk is open from 8:30 AM until 10PM Monday - Thursday, 8:30 AM until 9:00 PM on Friday, Noon until 6:00 PM on Saturday, and from 1 PM until 10 PM on Sundays unless the library closes at an earlier time. The Circulation Desk is staffed at all times. The Archives Department is open and staffed Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5 PM.
Books may be checked out for out-of-building use until 5 minutes prior to closing. A chime is sounded 10 minutes and again 5 minutes prior to closing.
Hours during other vacation periods will be posted. Patrons can consult Library Information on the DOC for a listing of hours.
