In 2006 University College sponsored an art competition to select a work for the cover of the HMXP (then GNED) 102 text. The student works were judged by a panel of faculty on artistic quality, creativity, capturing the theme of HMXP 102 The Human Experience: Who am I? and incorporating the nature and character of Winthrop University.

The judges were impressed with the quality of all the works submitted, so it was decided to exhibit all of them. The works are now on display in the Dacus Library main exhibit area and will be there through September 28, 2007.
