October is South Carolina Archives Month and we are commemorating it with our new exhibit highlighting collections from the Winthrop University Louise Pettus Archives and Special Collections.  Included in the exhibit are clay tablets from 2300 BC; a George Washington letter, daguerreotypes and other photographs, Civil War diaries, 19th century letters, items from “Lost Generation” writer Nathan Asch Papers, material from children’s book author Matt Christopher Papers,  Winthrop history items, and other material from Winthrop’s holdings.  The exhibit will run from October 5 to October 31 and is open during regular library hours.
