Liz Burns is a founding member of the Hodges Taylor Ensemble, a professional string quartet based in Charlotte. A Charlotte native, she has served as either a full-time or extra member of the Charlotte Symphony since 1977, has played in symphony orchestras throughout the Carolinas and currently serves as Assistant Principal Cello in the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra. In addition to teaching Cello and coaching string quartets at Winthrop, Liz teaches Orchestra in grades four through eight at Trinity Episcopal School in Charlotte and is the cello coach of the Charlotte Symphony Junior Youth Orchestra.
