Interior Design

Belk, IIDA, IDEC, LEED AP is in her 13th year of teaching in both private and public collegiate environments. She holds a graduate M.A.Ed. degree, NCIDQ certification, and LEED accreditation, and she has the significant industry experience and advanced computer skills to teach most upper-level college ID coursework. She has served in multiple local IIDA capacities for student event planning, won the 2006 and 2012 Educator Award for the Carolinas Chapter, and was the recipient of the 2013 NAWIC Education Foundation Carol A. Kueker Construction Visionary Award. Her principle creative and scholarly endeavors include environmental design, BIM integration into ID curriculum, service learning and career development, and educational/liturgical design. She strives to facilitate student professional involvement, travel and campus engagement, and works extensively with New Student Programs, Career and Civic Engagement, and other University College initiatives. Prior to teaching, she was a project manager for primarily corporate and educational interiors and currently consults on residential renovations, real estate staging and commercial upfits.
