Miller teaches music technology and applied jazz guitar at Winthrop, and he is a member of the strings and music technology committees.

As a composer/producer, Miller focuses on writing music for visual imagery and has scored nearly a dozen films, including the multiple award-winning feature documentary Land of Confusion. His music has been used in various other media;  theater, television and radio broadcasts, museum installations, and video games.  Miller's music has been used in markets such as London, England; Barcelona, Spain; New York, N.Y.; Chicago, Ill.; Los Angeles, Calif.; Atlanta, Ga.; Philadelphia, Pa.; and Nashville, Tenn.

Miller frequently performs throughout the region at private events, festivals, and various public venues. He formally studied jazz guitar with Joe Negri, Mark Koch, Ken Karsh, and LH Dickert.  Additional jazz improvisation studies with Sean Jones (trumpet), Tim Gordon (saxophone), and Tom Hildreth (bass). He attended master classes and/or private lessons with Jimmy Bruno, Chuck Loeb, John Stowell, Marty Ashby, and Jimmy Heath. He is a graduate of Duquesne University and Winthrop.

Miller also serves as a lecturer for Winthrop's Department of Design, where he teaches "Introduction to Web Design."
