Application Procedures
To apply for a music scholarship, review the Audition Requirements and complete and submit a Music scholarship application form online.
Complete and submit the Music Scholarship Application Form at least three weeks prior to your chosen audition date. Be sure to indicate the audition date you plan to attend. Your audition date and time will be confirmed by return mail or e-mail. [If you are unable to attend any of the published dates, contact the Music Office to see if a special date can be arranged.] Also, in lieu of an on-campus audition, you may submit a high quality cassette tape, videotape, or CD of your audition. This recording should be accompanied by the completed application form and a statement from your music teacher verifying its authenticity.
You may include a letter of recommendation from a band or choral director, or from a private music teacher who is familiar with your performance skills and musical ability.
You can submit a Winthrop University Application Form available from the Office of Admissions at 800/763-0230 (or apply to Winthrop University on-line). Although you may audition prior to acceptance into the university, a music scholarship may not be officially offered until you have been accepted.
