Dr. Sanders is an Assistant Professor of Counseling and Development in the College of Education. She earned her Ph.D. in Counselor Education from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Her previous work experience includes serving as a teacher, counselor, coach, and/or director of various youth programs throughout North Carolina, Colorado, and Virginia. Throughout her career, she has worked with students, parents, teachers, counselors, and K-12 administrators in public, private, and alternative settings. She has presented at regional, state, and national conferences. Dr. Sanders’ research interests include school counselor professional identity development; career counseling in K-12; school counselor self-efficacy providing career counseling; assessment and evaluation of school counseling programs.
