Ann Copeland is the internship coordinator in the Department of Physical Education, Sport and Human Performance at Winthrop University. She received her B. S. degree in Physical Education at Winthrop and her M. A. degree in Physical Education from Appalachian State University.
Mrs. Copeland has retired from teaching health and physical education. During the thirty six years of teaching she also coached basketball, volleyball, track, and tennis. In 2003, she was selected for the Richard W. Riley College of Education Outstanding Educator at Winthrop University. Five years of her work experience was coaching basketball and acting as associate athletic director at Winthrop.
Mrs. Copeland has served on the Hornets’ Nest Girl School Council board as Vice President as well as several committees for the Girl Scout council. She has also volunteered at the ACC women’s basketball tournament, North South basketball game, and the York County Sport Hall of Fame. She is married to Sam Copeland and they have two grown children.
